We’ve been on a barnstorming tour with our film “The Other Boys of Summer”. We were invited to “The Jazz & Jackie Celebration” put on by The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum in KC in April. The LA Times mentioned us as something not to miss.
From KC we traveled to Dallas where The Texas Rangers invited us to their Youth Academy. We did a free community program sharing the film and following it up with a panel discussion that included Texas Ranger CF, Delino DeSheilds Jr., retired Pitcher, Darren Oliver and Director, Lauren Meyer.
In June we visited Pittsburgh to be part of the Pirates Heritage weekend and also shared our Diversity & Inclusion program with The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (America’s largest health and wellness philanthropy).
The July Calendar includes bringing The Other Boys of Summer to Cleveland for MLB’s All Star Week festivities. The film will be part of The Bridge, a one-day activation on July 6, 2019, curated by the MLB Diversity & Inclusion Department that will “bridge” baseball and culture.
In the first 2 months after launching our Diversity & Inclusion / Team Building Program it’s been used by Procter & Gamble, GE Aviation, The Cincinnati Reds Urban Youth Academy and HS’s and Middle Schools. Lauren Meyer (filmmaker/director) was also invited to be part of a program at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights.
We are excited to be bringing The Other Boys of Summer to the Negro League Baseball Museum in April where it will be part of the Jazz & Jackie Celebration. There will be a FREE community screening at the GEM theater in KC on Sunday, April 14. Additional programs are booked for the coming months. We’re always happy to share information about how to bring the program to your group, organization or community. Proud to be bringing people together and inspiring people.

Over the past few months we’ve shot for AP/Invision Agency, Eastern TV, Pilgrim Media and a few very exciting development projects for various companies. We’re currently prepping “The Other Boys of Summer” for color correction. The big push is to lock in distribution and sponsorship partners. Reach out if you’re interested in finding out more or joining the team. It’s a timely project that hits a Home Run with social responsibility.
Earlier this week Lauren spent the afternoon with Cicely Tyson. She joined us in the recording booth for “The Other Boys of Summer”. As a civil rights icon herself, having her as our Narrator is dream come true. She was as lovely as can be and a consummate professional. Thank you Miss Tyson for choosing to be a part of our film. Together we will preserve the legacy of the Negro League trailblazers and bring people together to make a positive impact.
For more about the film and how you can help get the film seen in schools and community groups visit The Other Boys of Summer.
The buzz around “The Other Boys of Summer” is growing. Executive Producer/Director, Lauren Meyer was invited to join Harold Reynolds and Fran Charles this week on MLB’s “Hot Stove” to talk about the film.
“The Other Boys of Summer” is trending on kickstarter and has been selected to be featured as a “Project We Love”. The film reached the initial goal to help cover the cost of licensing of music and archival materials in record time. Now we are looking to Expand The Reach of the film. If you haven’t checked out the kickstarter yet, take a look and consider backing it.
