Earlier this week Lauren spent the afternoon with Cicely Tyson. She joined us in the recording booth for “The Other Boys of Summer”. As a civil rights icon herself, having her as our Narrator is dream come true. She was as lovely as can be and a consummate professional. Thank you Miss Tyson for choosing to be a part of our film. Together we will preserve the legacy of the Negro League trailblazers and bring people together to make a positive impact.
For more about the film and how you can help get the film seen in schools and community groups visit The Other Boys of Summer.
The buzz around “The Other Boys of Summer” is growing. Executive Producer/Director, Lauren Meyer was invited to join Harold Reynolds and Fran Charles this week on MLB’s “Hot Stove” to talk about the film.
“The Other Boys of Summer” is trending on kickstarter and has been selected to be featured as a “Project We Love”. The film reached the initial goal to help cover the cost of licensing of music and archival materials in record time. Now we are looking to Expand The Reach of the film. If you haven’t checked out the kickstarter yet, take a look and consider backing it. Join our team and make a positive impact on civil rights today! https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/26398221/baseball-and-civil-rights-the-other-boys-of-summer?ref=6uhyo7
Feels appropriate that we launched our kickstarter campaign for “The Other Boys of Summer” today! Let’s be kind to one another and always fight for equality.
Don’t miss the chance to impact civil rights and preserve the legacy of the Negro League baseball players. Most people aren’t aware that Jackie Robinson stepped on the field for the Brooklyn Dodgers before Rosa Parks, Brown vs. The Board of Education and the march from Selma to Montgomery. When Jackie broke the color barrier in 1947, MLK Jr. was still in college.
Let them inspire you!
Seasons Greetings!! We just launched a site for “The Other Boys of Summer”. Now we’re counting the days/hours to the kickstarter launch. It’s very exciting and happening quickly.
Over the summer we worked on many fun projects and racked up a lot of frequent flier miles. The more we work with clients outside of the traditional network TV world, the more we get to return to the freedom of creativity that inspired us to pursue TV and Film from the start. We still work on broadcast TV projects too. Lauren recently was a Producer/Shooter on “The Job Interview” on CNBC, which launched this week to rave reviews.
Congrats to “Maggie the Cow” the project that is part of Oprah’s “Super Soul Sunday”. They beat us out for the Emmy. I guess if you have to lose, losing to Oprah isn’t so bad. It’s an honor to be Nominated. 😉
Proud to announce “The American Dream Project”, a Netflix web series that Lauren directed, was Nominated for an Emmy!!! Very exciting news. We can’t stop smiling. Check it out on Netflix or Amazon. 🙂
